What’s Good v.2

Edition two of my newest installment-What’s Good?  Basically what I’m into this week.  Nobody probably cares but I can at least reflect on what has inspired me.

Cale Glendening-this guy is seriously the multi tasker I one day dream to be.  Not only is he an amazing photographer, his video work is INSANE.  He’s worked for the likes of Mark Hoppus, Demon Hunter and Relient K-just to drop a few names.  If you watch some of his videos, make sure to check out the one he did for Megan Thompson and Mark Hoppus.  Seriously some ground breaking film skills.

Planet Earth-This show is amazing.  Seeing nature isn’t something I’m necessarily all about or anything.  Don’t get me wrong, I like animals and whatnot, but I don’t go out of my way to watch Animal Planet or anything (I used to LOVE Meerkat Manor though.)  Planet Earth was filmed over five years and has some of the most amazing camera work I’ve ever seen.  Half of the time I watch it I am saying WHAT! or NUH UHHH! just because the camera work is so crazy.  Plus you learn some pretty crazy facts about nature/animals.

Amble Down Records-Okay, I may be a bit biased on this, because I’ve got a few friends who are signed to this label, but holy crap.  I definitely dig this label because although it’s mainstay artists are all out of Eau Claire, except a few who hail from Minneapolis, the label puts out consistently great records.  Two of the must have albums are The Cloud Hymn and Cranes and Crows.  Go buy them today and thank me tomorrow.  Or today.  A record from them I’ve been meaning to pick up is a band known as The Daredevil Christopher Wright.  They were recently featured as PASTE Magazine’s band of the week, so I’m going to take that as a hint.

Crush-Pop, soda, coke, whatever you call it-this is so good.  Plus it’s website is so classy looking.  I love it!  Not gonna lie, I screen-shotted it, there’s some serious design inspiration on that site.  I prefer to drink Crush out of a glass bottle because it’s just so much  more legit, even though it may no be as good for the environment (I recycle though.)  Go buy some!  Try not to buy it at Wal-Mart though, or your car will be in mortal danger of getting dents from all the carts strewn across the landscape (see previous entries to see my rants on the subject.)

Enjoy.
